Between the Worlds is finally here!
I’ve been working on this book for so long, it’s almost hard to believe it’s actually done and out in the world! It’s been a TON of work, but I think it was all worth it. I love this book!
If you’ve read Book One, Apprentice, you’ll have already met two of this book’s three main characters, Davie and Isaiah. These two top-of-class rivals have been paired to work on a circle-casting project together for their Witchcraft class, and it is NOT going well.
Eventually, competing when they should be cooperating causes everything to go wrong and they find themselves dealing with the consequence: the presence of a wild girl named Kiara, running amok on campus and rumored to be dangerous.
Kiara’s own story, though, is filled with far more challenges and consequences than Davie and Isaiah have ever dreamed of.
Writing this book got out of hand in the very best way. The original plan was to write only Davie and Isaiah’s story: Kiara’s story was supposed to be just backstory, told in dialogue as we went along. But the more I fleshed that story out, the more I realized I had to suck it up, do the research, and actually write it all.
The result is a nice, fat, 600+ page book spanning 300 years and 3 separate timelines. It’s the most complex, intense thing I’ve ever written, and I’m as happy with it as a writer ever is with something we’ve written.
If you haven’t read Apprentice, I think you can still read this and follow it fine–I try to fill in gaps as I go along, and I don’t think anything will be confusing. That said, though, if you were to read this then go back to read Apprentice, you might find Between the Worlds had too many spoilers.
If you want to read Apprentice for FREE to get started, you can do that when you subscribe to my mailing list! If you’d rather just buy it, I still keep it priced low because it’s first in series. Both books are available at almost all major ebook retailers (the only one missing right now is Apple, and that’ll be remedied in the next month or so.) If you don’t require a specific store for a specific device (e.g. Amazon for Kindle or B&N for Nook) books in my Itch store are always priced lower than other platforms where I can. (I can’t technically do 99 cents or lower on Itch, but books that are 99 cents elsewhere are set as $1 or pay what you want.)
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll give Between the Worlds a chance, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!
